Rawafy — Mosque Donation Commerce Platform

A full-stack commerce platform built for the Saudi and Gulf market that lets customers purchase water and other goods for distribution directly to mosques. The system spans a web store, a native mobile app, an internal operations dashboard, and a unified backend API — managing sales, delivery, and charitable distribution end to end.

Overview

Rawafy solves a specific regional need: making it simple, trustworthy, and convenient to buy and donate water (and similar essentials) to mosques, rather than relying on informal or offline arrangements.

The platform digitizes the entire journey — from browsing products and completing a secure payment, to selecting a mosque and having a dedicated courier deliver the goods — while giving business owners full visibility and control over inventory, orders, delivery, and marketing performance.

Key Features

  • Bilingual storefrontArabic-first with English support and full RTL layout for browsing and purchasing.
  • Mosque-based deliveryLocation and mapping tools, plus delivery-zone management by city and district.
  • Passwordless authPhone sign-in via one-time codes delivered through SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Secure regional paymentsMyFatoorah integration, with an admin safety-net to manually confirm slow-processing transactions.
  • In-house courier systemOrder assignment and delivery tracking with in-house couriers, independent of third-party shipping.
  • Admin operations dashboardManage products, categories, campaigns, mosques, delivery districts, and influencer partnerships.
  • Marketing & analytics toolingInfluencer/campaign management and ad-tracking integrations (Google, TikTok, Snapchat).
  • Business reportingSales dashboards and one-click Excel exports of order data.
  • Native mobile appiOS, Android, and web, with push notifications for cart recovery and re-engagement.
  • Tax-compliant pricingSaudi VAT-inclusive pricing in Saudi Riyal.

How It Works

  1. 1Shop — Customers browse the website or mobile app, select products, and choose a mosque to receive their purchase.
  2. 2Verify & pay — A quick phone-verified sign-in leads into checkout through a secure payment gateway.
  3. 3Process — Once payment is confirmed, the order flows into the admin dashboard, where staff manage stock and process the order.
  4. 4Deliver — Staff assign the order to a courier, who sees only their assigned deliveries and updates status until completion.

Behind the scenes, a single shared backend powers all three experiences — store, app, and admin dashboard — keeping product data, orders, and reporting consistent across the platform. Marketing teams can run campaigns and track their performance through the same system.

My Role

As full-stack developer, I built and maintained the platform end to end — the web store, the internal admin dashboard, the native mobile app, and the backend API that powers all three. This included:

  • Designing the checkout and payment flow, including edge cases with the payment gateway.
  • Implementing phone/OTP authentication.
  • Building the delivery and courier assignment system.
  • Integrating marketing and analytics tracking.
  • Delivering the reporting and export tools used by the operations team.

Outcome

Rawafy is live and operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, available across web and mobile. The platform shipped as a complete, production-ready system across three coordinated surfaces — web storefront, native mobile app, and admin dashboard — delivering a working end-to-end solution for mosque water donation and distribution in the Saudi market.
